The demolishment towards hundreds of illegal buildings on the banks of Sekretaris River, Kebon Jeruk Sub-District, West Jakarta, had to be delayed. This is caused by unfinished flat construction in Daan Mogot area.

Coordinator of City Administration's Reservoir and River Division, Heryanto explained such demolishment is done to construct inspection road that passes Duri Kepa and Kedoya Utara Urban Villages. Later on, the building owners would be relocated to the flat.

Haryanto uttered road construction aims to minimize flooding and traffic congestion in the capital. City Administration will keep trying to build inspection roads in some areas and is targeted can build 50 roads.

Separately, Head of West Jakarta Housing and Government Buildings Sub-Department, Rohman Lizard expressed the Daan Mogot Flat is predicted to finish by the end of this October. His sub-department plans to build 26 blocks.

"As the initial phase, we will build 8 blocks that can accommodate 700-800 households," he told.

As known, Daan Mogot Flat construction is a multiyear project that uses the City Budget (APBD). As many as 16 blocks with a capacity of 800 households would be built and be equipped with a largest mosque on the land as wide as ​​3 hectares.
